Grilled Monte Christo WaffleWich
The Monte Christo is a cousin of the French croque monsieur: part French toast, part grilled cheese. Made with our Large Butter Liège waffles, it skips the eggs, heavy cream and messy dipping, because the waffles already bring the sweet richness of brioche.

Quick, easy and delicious. The Monte Christo caught on in Southern California restaurants in the 1950s and '60s, usually battered and fried. The Liège waffle brings that French-toast richness without the batter.

Tips & Swaps
- Tip: Skip the usual powdered sugar. The pearl sugar in the waffle brings all the sweetness you need.
- Make ahead: Layer the sandwiches a few hours ahead, wrap and refrigerate, then grill just before serving.
- For kids: Leave off the Dijon.
