Ingredients:

Butter Liege Mountain Waffles

Maple Syrup

Whole Chicken

4 cups all-purpose flour

2.5 tablespoons salt

2 tablespoons black pepper

1/2 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 cup buttermilk

Vegetable Oil for Frying

Fried Chicken Preparation:

Cut the whole chicken into 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 legs and 2 wings.  Preheat your oil to 325 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, onion powder and cayenne pepper until thoroughly mixed.  Set aside.

Pour the buttermilk into a large bowl and prepare your dredging station.  Have your chicken pieces in a bowl, next to that your bowl of buttermilk, and next to that, your dry mixture.

Starting with the chicken breasts, lightly dust the chicken with your flour mixture, then dip them in the buttermilk until they are coated, and then place them in the flour mixture.  Make sure the chicken is very thoroughly coated.  Place the chicken into your hot oil.  Next, repeat the dredging steps with your other pieces of chicken in this order:  thigh, leg, wings.

Once the last wing is in the fryer, set a timer for 15 minutes.  After 15 minutes, check the temperature of a chicken breast.  If it reads 180 degrees F, all of your chicken is done.

Remove the chicken from the oil and let it drain for 5 minutes.  Let cool for an additional 10 minutes before serving.
